What is the normal value for PSA test?
I had prostate cancer in 2005 and my psa had gone from 1.00 to 4.50 in about two years.. I was treated with Proton Radiation at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda California and am fine my psa is now .13 While being treated I met men with prostate cancer who had PSAs of 2.00...The key to the detection was that their PSA was increasing.. If your PSA begins increasing you need to have a biopsy performed.. even if the PSA is 2.00-3.00 Like I stated the key to early detection is the increase... no matter how low the psa is.. Also If you ever need to be treated I believe Proton Radiation is the very best treatment.. it has little to no side effects.. (it is not like conventional radiation) and it has about a 90% cure rate.. I was not sick one single day during or after my treatments.. It was like I wasnt sick and was on a nice vacation... In California.... hope this helps.....Oh there is a Website called Proton Bob that is great it tells about prostate cancer and proton radiation.. be sure and read the Patient Testimonial section if you look it up.. There is also a new book just out written by Robert J. Marckini a prostate cancer surviver .. the book is great.. tells all about prostate cancer... tests and test results etc and then it tells about all of the treatments available today and gives the plus and miniuses of each.. If you or some one you know has prostate problems.. they should have the book.. It can be purchased at barnes and noble, ebay and other places.. well I think maybe you can order it at the Proton Bob website.. Bob stands for Brotherhood of the Balloon.. part of the treatment...
