What keeps you in religion and spirituality?

This seems directed toward those who don't share your beliefs. It can be directed at those that do as well. Why do religious people brow beat those who don't believe? I used to be Christian, tried to believe it, prayed but I never had or received any compelling reason to believe it was true. I'm a happy person without religion. I'm killing time here while I chat on the computer with my sister and my husband is away on a business trip.
