Why do so many Adoption Centers refuse to adopt smaller breed dogs to homes with children?

My family is currently looking for a shih tzu. I adore this breed and have been researching them for about 3 years. We are going to be completely ready to have one in March. I would love to adopt one from a shelter, but most will not even look at my application because I have 2 children under the age of 12( 10 and 3). I feel that I am going to be forced to go to a breeder for a puppy. I understand that many families do not supervise their children around their pets, which leads to injury to either the pet or the child. What I don't understand is, if we have excellent vet references, a large fenced yard, and are willing to undergo many home visits from the shelter, why won't they consider our application? Why should all families be judged by a few bad examples? I think it is extremely unfair that I will have to buy a puppy from a breeder rather than adopt one into a loving home where they will be loved and doted on.

In cooking, the point is NOT to get drunk, the point is to ADD FLAVOR to food by enhancing it with small portions of alcoholic substances. Most of the alcohol gets burned off during the cooking process, leaving the "flavor" of the alcoholic beverage behind.

I had the divorce hearing on July 23rd in which a Master presided over, the judge signed the divorce August 16th. The divorce was uncontested. What date would be the divorce date? The date the hearing was (in which the divorce was granted by the Master) or the date the judge signed the divorce.

be honest...tell her you're sorry and you shouldn't have taken advantage of the situation by being with her while you were both drunk. Tell her you regret being drunk but you don't regret being with her. She probably feels like you feel that you made a HUGE mistake. Tell her you understand if she doesn't want to talk anymore but that you really like her and would like to still see her. And also be honest and tell her sadly you were too drunk to remember every detail and you wished you could have made it more special for her and the situation could've been different and you would like to take her on a date or something.
